Privacy and cookies

This website (dbdtakker.com) is a personal content project about Dead by Daylight, run by xTakker (Isaac), a creator based in Spain. Public browsing works without first-party cookies. If you request coaching, we collect the information needed to handle your request.

1. Data controller

2. What data we process

You do not need to register or provide contact details to browse the website. If you request coaching, we store your email address, your Discord username if you provide it, the requested date and duration, and the details needed to check payment or membership: the email used to pay or transaction ID, or your Twitch or YouTube platform and username. We also store the status of the request and notes needed to organise it. We use this information to manage the booking, verify access to the service and contact you.

The legal basis for this processing is handling your request and, if confirmed, providing the service. The data is stored on the website server and the notice is sent through an email provider; xTakker and the technical providers needed to supply these services may access it. It will be kept for as long as needed to manage the session and handle possible issues; afterwards it will be deleted or retained for any period required by applicable law.

To understand which content is useful we use cookieless web analytics (see point 4), which measures visits in an aggregated, anonymous way, without identifying you or tracking you across sites.

Part of that measurement is our own: the server notes which pages are visited, which search engine or network people arrive from, in which language, and whether a visitor clicks through to xTakker's channels. So that the same person is not counted several times in one day, an irreversible code is derived from your IP and browser against a key that changes every day: your IP is never stored, there is no way to recognise you the next day, and no way to follow you across other sites. What is kept are aggregate daily figures, never one person's activity.

Some tools keep things in your browser's local storage so they can work: the language you pick, your wheels and, in the daily Dbdguessr challenge, your guesses for the day, your streak and your history. That information never leaves your device, and you can wipe it at any time by clearing the site's data in your browser.

Dbdguessr also sends the server a random identifier generated by your own browser, with none of your data inside it. Its only job is to keep one person from being counted twice in the day's scoreboard; the server stores it hashed and keeps aggregate figures only (players, correct guesses and attempts), never games tied to a person.

3. Cookies

This site sets no first-party cookies and no advertising trackers. The only cookie that may exist is a technical one, and it appears solely in the private admin area (not accessible to the public).

Some embedded third-party content (videos) may set its own cookies only if you choose to play it; we use privacy-enhanced versions to minimise this (see point 4).

4. Third-party services

  • Our own analytics — processed on the same server that serves the site, with no cookies, no profiling and nothing shared with third parties (see point 2).
  • Plausible Analytics — cookieless visit analytics with no personal data, hosted in the EU. More information.
  • YouTube (privacy-enhanced mode, youtube-nocookie) — videos only load data from YouTube once you play them. Google's policy.
  • Twitch, Kick, Instagram, TikTok, Discord — these are external links to profiles; clicking them takes you off this site and their own policies apply.
  • StreamElements — when you pay for a coaching session through its link, payment is handled outside this website and its privacy policy applies. This website does not receive or store card details.
  • Google Fonts — the site's typefaces are loaded from Google's servers.

5. Your rights

If you have sent us information by email or through the coaching form, you may exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability under the GDPR (EU Regulation 2016/679) and Spain's LOPDGDD by emailing xtakker.contacto@gmail.com. You may also complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).

6. Minors

This site is not intended to collect data from minors. If you are under age, please do not send us personal data without your parents' or guardians' consent.

7. Trademark notice

Unofficial fan-made site. Dead by Daylight and all its logos, characters and associated imagery are registered trademarks and the property of Behaviour Interactive Inc.. This site is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Behaviour Interactive, other than through xTakker's participation in its official creator programme. Artwork from the game is used for informational purposes and to inform the community.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to the site or to the law. The version in force will always be published on this page along with its update date.
